Tattoo Removal

How does it work?

Laser tattoo removal is a FDA approved treatment that uses isolated laser energy to break up the pigment and color in tattoos. This is a safe and effective procedure when performed properly and has little to no side effects.

Our Q-Switch Laser, Q-Plus C removes all ink colors. The device is equipped with three wavelengths of light to remove most colors on the spectrum. The Q-Switch effect works by breaking down the ink particles in the tattoo.

How many sessions will it take?

There are many factors that contribute to how many sessions a client may need to fade or completely remove a tattoo. Results vary due to things like the quantity and quality of the ink, how old the tattoo is, where it is located, and skin type play a part. There is no guarantee for how long it will take, or if your body will allow full removal.

Is it painful?

It’s a common belief that tattoo removal is excruciating, yet most patients say that the sensation of removal is comparable to having a tattoo applied. At Valley Dermatology and Aesthetics we use topical anesthetic prior to the procedure. We then use a Zimmer Cryo cooling device that uses freezing cold air emitted from a hose to assist in numbing your skin before, during, and after your treatment session. The treatment doesn’t take long, so any discomfort is short lived. That said, many say that it hurts less than they expected.

How long in between sessions?

6 – 12 Weeks. The longer you wait in between your sessions the more your tattoo will fade.

What Is The Downtime After Treatment?
