How does RF Microneedling work?
Microneedling works by applying sterile microneedles deep into the dermis of the skin. These needles
- create microscopic channels deep within the dermis to stimulate the natural production of collagen and
- deliver radio-frequency heat energy at the desired depths to promote remodeling of collagen and elastin that tightens and lifts the skin.
When can you expect to see results?
A benefit of RF Microneedling is that the collagen you build is your own so results are natural, immediate and will continue to improve with time. It can take up to 4-6 weeks until the full benefits are apparent.
What makes Virtue RF a virtually pain-free treatment?
Virtue RF microneedles are driven into the skin using the exclusive robotic precision delivery (RPD) system. The insertion is so exact that it creates no tearing or trauma to the skin (unlike microneedling pens or other RF microneedling systems that can scratch the skin causing pain, blood and sebum in the channels and mixed outcomes). The length of a treatment depends on the area being treated and the protocol being followed. Typically, a full face treatment will take 20 minutes.

What is Microneedling?
Microneedling utilizes tiny needles to create hundreds of controlled micro-injuries to the skin. The skin’s natural repair process then stimulates production of new collagen and elastin, which results in the reduction of wrinkles and scars and improves skin texture. Microneedling also creates superficial micro-channels which allow topical serums like hyaluronic acid to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.

How Is The Procedure Done?
A sterile cartridge containing 12 sterile 33 gauge stainless steel needles is attached to the Rejuvapen NXT®. Your provider will apply a thin layer of hyaluronic acid to your skin and select the appropriate needle depth setting based on your unique needs. Next, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin until the entire treatment area has been covered. The procedure takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area to be treated.
What Does It Feel Like?
A topical numbing cream can be applied prior to the procedure to reduce discomfort. The needle tip is designed to be incredibly thin, while the handheld device delivers needle injections as quickly and as rapidly as possible. As a result, many patients often report feeling little to no pain at all. Those who did report discomfort indicated it felt like a mild tingling sensation.
What Is The Downtime?
Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness and pinpoint bleeding to the skin. The total healing time depends on the Rejuvapen NXT® setting used and the number of overlapping passes your provider performs. On average, patients are red for up to 2 to 4 days. Many patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.
When Will I See The Results?
Patients notice an immediate “glow” to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results can continue to improve up to 6 months.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments will be determined by your goals and your skin’s health. We recommend that most patients receive a series of three treatments spaced four weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, or acne scars, the recommended treatment is six to eight sessions at four to six week intervals.
Can I wear make-up following a procedure?
Typically, patients can resume their normal makeup and skin care regimen two to three days following a Microneedling treatment. Some post-procedure make-up can be used immediately. Generally, mineral based makeup is safe to use. However, this may vary based on the area and type of treatment performed, please consult your treatment provider for a precise recommendation.
