BOTOX / Dysport

Botox® or Dysport® injection is a simple, quick, and non-invasive procedure that can smooth the lines and wrinkles between your brows, your forehead, and your eye area.

How does Botox / Dysport work?

Botox / Dysport is a natural, purified protein that is administered at very low doses to reduce the contractions of the muscles that cause those persistent wrinkles that have developed over time. While the results are dramatic, it will not radically change your facial appearance. The muscles are simply relaxed, so you can still smile or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.

What is a Botox / Dysport treatment like?

Botox / Dysport procedure is fast, simple, and no anesthesia is required. Injections are administered with an ultra-fine needle and discomfort is minimal. Most people return immediately to work or normal activity following treatment.

What areas can be treated with Botox or Dysport?

Botox / Dysport treatment can be performed between your brows, eye area (“crow’s feet”), forehead, upper lip, nasal “bunny lines”, and neck. Effects of Botox / Dysport appear within a week and generally last 3-4 months.

How safe is Botox / Dysport?

Side effects are mild and temporary, such as mild bruising and headache.  In rare cases, slight drooping of an eyelid or brow can occur, which can easily be corrected.

FILLERS and VOLUMIZERS

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm® is a safe, natural, and long-lasting dermal filler that helps fill in wrinkles, creases and folds and can also be used to plump up your lips.

How does Juvéderm work?

Juvéderm is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in your body. It is  injected into the skin, which lifts up the wrinkle or fold and immediately smoothes them out.

How is a Juvéderm procedure performed?

Juvéderm is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts with an ultra-fine needle.  The procedure is simple and quick, and results are immediate. A topical numbing cream can be used before the procedure to minimize discomfort.  Juvéderm XC, contains lidocaine to make your injection even more comfortable.

What areas can Juvéderm be used?

The most popular areas are the lips, nasolabial folds (the crease from the nose to the corner of your lips), droopy corners of the mouth, marionette lines, and the vertical lines around the lips. Juvéderm can also help define the lip borders (no more bleeding lipstick!) and give the appearance of a fuller lip. Lastly, sunken acne scars can be improved with Juvéderm.

How long will the results of a Juvéderm treatment last?

Juvéderm effects typically last 6 months and up to one year, depending on the area. Treatments are usually scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having touch-up treatments before Juvéderm has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

INJECTION LIPOLYSIS

KYBELLA®

KYBELLA® is the only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA for improving the appearance of submental fullness (often referred to as “double chin”).  Submental fullness can impact both men and women and can be influenced by factors such as aging, genetics and weight gain, and is often resistant to diet and exercise alone.  KYBELLA® effectively dissolves fat under the chin, leaving a smoother jawline without the recovery time of invasive procedures like liposuction or neck lift surgery.

What is KYBELLA®?

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.  When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

How is a KYBELLA® treatment performed?

KYBELLA® is administered to the fat under the chin through a series of tiny injections. The procedure is non-invasive with minimal downtime or recovery required. Most treatments take only 15 minutes. Topical lidocaine and/or injected lidocaine can be used to minimize discomfort.

Will I experience any side effects?

Side effects are mild and temporary, including swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and areas of hardness around the treatment area. It can rarely cause serious side effects, including trouble swallowing and nerve injury in the jaw that can cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness. Men may experience temporary loss of hair growth in the area of injections.

Are multiple treatments required?

Depending on the amount of submental fat and your desired goals, multiple treatments may be necessary. Most patients experience visible results in 2 to 4 treatment sessions. Up to 6 sessions may be administered spaced 6 weeks apart.

How long will the results last?

KYBELLA® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with KYBELLA® is not expected.

Who is a good candidate for KYBELLA®?

KYBELLA® is currently FDA approved only for fat under the chin. It does not treat excess or loose skin.
